I am a versatile writer with a variety of interests, primarily focused on local agriculture and the arts.

I have been an enthusiastic patron and participant in just about every art form since I was a small child. Writing came early and was a constant, but it was soon followed by drawing and painting, singing, and stagecraft. I obtained a bachelor’s degree with honors in English at Wesleyan University, where I also took courses in art history and studio art, and did costume design and stage management for student productions.

My love of local food and agriculture came a little later. Although I always enjoyed cooking, having spent hours in the kitchen with my father as a child, I slowly became aware of the local food movement when I moved to western Massachusetts, and I eagerly embraced it.

I have experience providing high quality, written work, as well as editing services, for local non-profits. In addition to this, my blog, “Waking this Morning,” focuses on art events in Northampton and surrounding communities.
